Silverwolf fans! It’s time to vote for the December Larry H. Miller in Sandy Athlete of the Month. Nominated for Riverton High School this month is:

Easton Smith – Swimming – Riverton

Easton has already set two new school records, with his eyes on a few more this season, and he is seeded in the top 10 for his events at state.

Girls:

Isabella (Belle) Vargas – Wrestling – Juan Diego Catholic

Belle Vargas is undefeated so far this year, placed first in the West Lake Invitational, first in the Tooele Best Of The West Tournament, and was named the tournament outstanding wrestler in the lower weights. Belle competes in the 108 lb. class.

Brynnlee Murdock – Basketball – Mountain Ridge

Brynnlee has been a key contributor for our basketball program. She has put in a lot of work and it is fun to see it pay off. As a sophomore, Brynnlee is averaging 10 points/game and 9 rebounds.

Brynnlee had a career high vs Alta of 24 points and set a school record of 6 three pointers.

Meleanne Lokotui – Basketball – Bingham

Nane has stepped up here leadership game by creating culture and program buy-in amongst a relatively young team. She is a mentor to the younger girls and advocates for them, constantly encouraging them to push themselves to their full potential. When they get discouraged, Nane is the first one there to help lift them back up and boost their confidence, never allowing them to give up. Off the court, Nane has worked exceptionally hard to excel in the classroom, She has pulled her highest GPA of high school this semester because she doesn’t want to let the team down. Nane is heavily involved in family and community culture when not studying or practicing. She has matured into her role as a key contributor, leader, and motivator for the Lady Miner basketball team and it shows in her teammates trust in her to vote her as a captain for the 2021 season.

Alli Rich – Swimming – Jordan

Alli is currently ranked #1 in 6A in 100 yd Butterfly, an event in which she holds the Jordan record. Alli also holds the school record in the 100 freestyle. Alli is a hard worker and model for her teammates with her work ethic and attitude

Boys:

Dante Martin – Basketball – Jordan

Dante has shown massive improvement from Jr to Sr year. He has become a true leader on and off the floor and influences the game positively for his team. So far this season, Dante is averaging 21.6 pts, 6.1 reb, 5.1 ast, and 1.2 stl per game

Tanner Nelson – Swimming – Bingham

Tanner beat his 3rd school record, this one being the 200 yard individual medley.
